Anyone have experience flying out of CDG very early (7AM)? I'm wondering if it may actually be a little easier getting through the airport at that early hour. Thinking would have to arrange private transport that early. How early would you arrive at airport?
Right, sorry. London.
When we had to catch a flights that early from Paris and most places we accomplished that by asking the hotel the day before and they delivered a ride. It is not necessarily easier getting through the airport at that hour. For a 7 am flight to another city in Europe I would arrive 2 hours early; direct transatlantic flights the norm is to arrive 3 hours beforehand. You should ask the airline what they recommend
Are you flying on British Air? Usually, I would say arrive 2 hours before departure time but I have taken a 7ish AM flight from CDG to London to connect on to a flight home and actually 90 minutes as recommended by British Air, was enough time and that included some time getting lost trying to find the check-in counter. I have not flown BA in a couple of years but their check-in area at CDG was in an odd spot and had no signage and the desk did not open until around 6 AM.
Edit: Are you flying to London for a trip to London as opposed to a connection ?
Hello from Wisconsin,
We have gotten luxurious enough to spend our last night at a motel at the airport, but hey, you have t o stay somewhere. Some very reasonably priced airport motels are so close to CDG and the terminal used for US departures that you barely step outside of buildings. You don't even have to think about getting transported to the terminal.
With such an easy departure due to this, my wife and I sleep better the night before we leave.

G7 taxi service. Worth every 50 euro!
We used them for the first time and are hooked on them now. Imagine not worrying about making it to the airport in time, how much is that worth? Imagine not schlepping your heavy luggage and being able to sleep in a sedan car instead of your head bobbing around on the metro.
