CDG - are VisitParis TI offices inside the security area?

When I arrive at CDG I stop at the VisitParis Tourist Information branches (these are not the same as the airport info stands) to buy a RER ticket into Paris; no line, they speak English, and take US credit cards. In fact I have posted that advice on this forum. However its been a few years since I've been thru so some of the details are vague in my memory.

This year I'm meeting a friend in Paris who is flying into a different terminal. I was thinking we could meet up at one of these branches, but I can't remember if they are inside of security or not. So if I fly into terminal 1, would I be able to get to one of them in terminal 2 or is it behind the security screening? I'm hoping someone who has recently been thru CDG sees this and knows the answer.

BTW a list of their locations is at http://en.visitparisregion.com/practical-info/tourist-information-desks-100180.html

John, do they tack on any service or additional fees if you buy tickets from them? I see they also sell the Museum Pass and carnets. It would be really convenient to buy everything in one spot right after getting off the plane!

No, its face value (at least for the RER ticket, carnet, and museum pass which is what I have purchased from them). Its a great timesaver to get these in one place and usually without much of a wait. Of course now that I've said that the next time I'm there a family will be in front of me wanting to make all the arrangements for their 2-week stay in Paris ;-)
