Is there a place at CDG that you can purchase a Sim card? What is the approximate cost?

I don't know the cost but any Relay Shop will carry SIM cards. There are a number of them in the airport.

A Lebara voice/text SIM costs 5€ and has a few minutes on it. I paid 10€ for a top off card with more minutes. Activation is easy, just follow the instructions to get to English speaking tech support.

After passport control, luggage retrieval, etc., we followed signs to Exit and found ourselves in an area with food, ATM, rental car desks, and a helpful Info Booth. I suspect it's impossible not to pass through this area (we'd arrived from the US on United at Terminal 1.) The Info Booth attendant directed us to a tiny tabac, etc. stand a few feet away. They had the Orange SIM card package. Clear instructions were included and we experienced no problems. It's been a few months, but I recall the cost being in the neighborhood of E40 or E50 for a 30 day term with much more phone and data than we needed for our 3-week stay. Good luck.
