Could someone help me with Carte Navigo for Dummies? I purchased the carte today.I put my photo on it. My understanding is that the sum loaded on to it is only good from Monday (tomorrow) until the following Sunday. What happens to the unused portion? How can I check and see how much is remaining? Can it be used on the RER lines? buses?
On my next trip to Paris, can I reload the carte and use it on the RER B line from CDG to Paris?
Any other suggestions? Thanks!
The Navigo is a weekly pass, so there's no "unused portion" of money left. You can use it for any bus, metro or RER - out to Versailles, CDG, or Orly.
On your next trip, you can purchase a new week, using the same card because it has your photo on it.
It is good from Monday morning to Sunday night. There is no money left on it after midnight Sunday. On the other hand, it won't run out of money anytime during the week. It is a pass for unlimited rides.
Yes, you can reload it at the airport. You can also reload it on-line before you leave:

Thank you. I got it. It is valid Monday to the following Sunday. Duh, it's a pass not a chipcard (like Amsterdam). It works great. Since it's Monday and it's raining, I'm going to take my Carte Navigo and hit the road, so to speak.
