Relatively few trains stop at Calais Frethun and it is very isolated. Don't commit to picking up or dropping off a car there until you are certain that there is a train at the time you want to travel.

While it may be out of your way, depending on where you are going, you are likely to be more happy using Lille for the Eurostar station because of many more facilities and car rental in the station.
