I am planning a trip to the Loire and Normandy this Autumn.
If I rent a car from Orleans and drop if off at Caen, will be there any one way extra drop off charges?

Have you checked their website? Usually there is not a drop off fee if returned in the same country. You should still check.

I have found that Avis/Hertz will reliably add a one way drop off fee.
I have never paid a one way, in France, drop off fee with either Sixt or Europcar.
