Car Rental Plans in Lille France

After an extensive search of the Forum (and re-reading RS France), I feel pretty confident in our plans for renting our car. However, I just need to clarify/answer a few things.

We will be taking the rail from Bruges to Lille. There, we will rent a car and drive to Bayeux.
As I understand this, we will be on the SNCF which arrives at Lille Flandres. I am a bit confused with this since I keep seeing TWO train locations: Gare De Lille Europe TGV and Gare De Lille Flandres TGV. From which station will I be renting our car?

We will be dropping off our car 3 days later in the morning on a Tuesday at the Caen station where we will take the rail to Paris. If you see any issues with this, let me know.

We are traveling in July 2018. How many months in advance should I rent the car? Am I crazy to do it now?

Neither of the stations have TGV in their name.

The two stations, Lille Flandres - which is the original station, before the advent of the Eurostar trains which go between Brussels and London via Lille - and the ultramodern Lille Europe which is the home of the Eurostar and most of the few TGVs serving Lille, and all the Thalys trains - are just a couple of hundred metres/yards apart and very clearly marked between each other. Take the train to whichever the train goes to - probably Lille Flandres from Bruges/Brugge, and probably Lille Europe if you detour via Brussels.

We did a similar trip (from Ghent instead of Bruges). Arrived at the Flanders station, walked to the the Europe station where the rental car office was. Car was parked at a casino nearby.

If you end up with the same journey, head towards the "Euralille" shopping structure, but don't try to take a shortcut through it like we did.
