Whats the feasibility/expense Of renting a car in Sarlat, and dropping it off in Bordeaux later the same day? I want to do this, because I just cannot find a train connection that fits my travel plans. Thanks everybody! J.

If you find it financially feasible, make sure you get explicit instructions on where to return the car near the Bordeaux train station. After circling many times we parked at the garage below the station, walked in to the station and found the Auto Europe office -- that was NOT the car dropoff garage, but we looked so frazzled that they got an employee to pick up the car and return it to the proper location. (We did make our train to Paris, but just barely.) Lots of construction in the area, and GPS may not be current.
