We will be in Marseille in early June and would like to tour the area on our own with a rental car. We will be docking at the larger cruise port north of "downtown". I can't seem to find the exact name of the cruise terminal but it is for the big cruise ships. Does anyone know of the closest car rental agency? It appears that Sixt is close to the port and I have emailed them to verify their location and I haven't received a reply. I don't think that is a good sign.

You might want to check the web site for Sixt, as well as some other rental companies, such as Europcar and Hertz. If you check for "locations," they'll often have pretty good info as to where they are, sometimes with Google Maps.

I have checked the website and google maps but I was hoping for some first hand knowledge and not just googling. I was hoping a local or someone that has rented a car there could give me some insight.
I have looked at Sixt website and I have emailed them as well.

Other than the fact that a legitimate auto rental agency has a listed office near the port, what kind of “insight” are you requesting?

I am not trying to be difficult but the “insight” I am looking for is from someone who has used Sixt or another car rental agency near the port in Marseille and can give me some feedback about their experience.
