Car rental in Chamonix, return in Paris.

what are your dates, how many people, automatic or manual, how big/small to fit luggage,how many day rental, where in paris, a city near chamonix for rental car pick up, check what cost to return to different place, read up about obtaining an IDP (aaa.com/IDP) if needed in france if license not in english, laws and rules about driving in country. know that some rental companies don't ask some do, but if stopped for any reason by "the popo" they will ask, if not a $$$ fine. best to get just in case, it's about $20-30 and receive same day.

Have you checked Autoeurope? We always check their offerings as they show several different car rental companies and are good for comparison. If there are no agencies in Chamonix, I would find the closest city (in France) to rent a car from. Sometimes there are fees for dropping a car off in a different city, but not always, and not too pricy either, in my experience.

We traveled from Paris to Chamonix but by train (direct) only to Annecy, rented a car there from Sixt, then drove to Chamonix. Not sure if the reverse would work for you though. Returned the car 2 weeks later in Marseille. Drop off fee wasn't memorable but needed to do so anyway.
