can anyone recommend a car rental company which would allow us to travel from Corsica to Sardaigna and back using the ferry? Seems like car rental agencies do not let you go outside the island you rented the car in.
I rented from Europcar (thru AutoEurope) in Càgliari and took the ferry to Corsica. They allowed the ferry trip but you’ll have to return the car to the island of origin. Get ready for hilly, twisting roads with some of the most fantastic views. If using Google Maps for navigation, download the necessary maps for offline use. There are some remote areas on the islands where cell service is spotty and the app seamlessly switches between on and off line.
Thanks
as for maps, try HERE maps in your apps.
Fantastic system where you need to setup your destination using wifi, then wifi is not needed as you travel. The system uses GPS technology and you do not need web connectivity
Phillips how long ago did you rent the car
September - October 2016. When I got to Sardinia, I did not get a definitive answer about the ferry until in the Europcar office at the airport. The ferry I took was the one from St Theresa to Bonifacio.
