We are picking up a car in Paris & will be dropping it off in Bordeaux. When we booked our rental car we found that we are being charged a drop-off fee. I think I saw on several posts that there are no drop-off fees in France. I may be mistaken. We have booked with Enterprise. Thanks in advance for your help.
I've typically booked through Auto Europe and among their selections, often end up with Europcar. It would be worth a look to compare prices before cancelling Enterprise.
Through AutoEurope I've rented numerous times in Spain, Italy and France. EuropCar option had best prices and no drop off fees. Already booked my rental for November.
So far, there is no drop-off fee with the European companies - Europcar and Sixt. I know that Avis charges a drop off fee as does Hertz or maybe I should say that I have been charged the fee. I don't rent from Enterprise outside of the US so I do not know about them but I am not surprised given that it is a US-based company.
We rented from Enterprise picking up at Caen railway station, dropping off at CDG and I don't remember any dropoff fee (the usual extra charge for station/airport locations, though.)
Staff at both locations were excellent.
EDIT : This was April 2016.
