We are going on a Best of Paris tour in October. We plan on renting a car on the Saturday the tour ends and going to Normandy for several days, and staying near CDG our final night in France.
Does it make sense to go to CDG to rent the car the day the tour ends and to return it there on our last night or is there a better way to handle this?
Thanks
Depending on your plans for Normandy; either take the train from Paris to Rennes (closer to Mont St Michel) and pick your car at the train station OR take the train to Caen (closer to Bayeux) and pick up a rental car there. Then you can return the car at CDG for a nominal fee.
What specifically are your plans for Normandy? It has much more than the DDay landing sights and the wonderful town of Bayeux. If more than DDay sights, take the train to Rouen (wonderful city) see some of it, and spend the night there. Pick up your car the next morning and drive to Bayeux (or whatever town you choose to stay in) to see some of the beautiful countryside in Normandy. You can return the car in, say, Caen and take a train back to Paris or CDG.
Thank you both! I think the Caen option sounds like a good one.
