Question for those who rent cars in France/Europe:
I like to travel with one of those charging gadgets that you plug into a cigarette lighter so that I increase my iPhone charging options. While in France in September, this will be my first time renting a car in Europe, so I have no idea of European cars have the same type of cigarette lighters that are in American cars. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks!
Yes, they do.
In addition, I suspect in many rental cars you will find USB ports that can be used for charging.
We rented in Italy this past June and it also had a USB connection, we brought our charger from here and it worked.
Yes, the "cigarette lighter" charging ports are the same, and newer cars often have a USB port as well.
But one poster warned to be sure that the charging ports are working BEFORE you leave the rental car lot. On his rental they weren't, and his GPS died on the road!
As others have said, same type of plugins. Our rental car had usb as well. You might get lucky and have a car with apple CarPlay. Relax and enjoy 😊
