Cannes to Nice Aiport

In mid September I'll need be going from Cannes to the Nice airport for a flight to Spain. What are the best/cheaper options? How much time do you recommend I give myself getting to the airport? My flight out of Nice leaves at 11:40 am.

Thanks for the help!

By regular train, it's a 40-minute train ride from Cannes to the Nice Ville train station. Train fare is 6.80Euro. I don't think there is a train station at the Nice airport but there may be a bus from the train station. If not, you will need to take a taxi. The Nice airport isn't that large but I would suggest arriving there no later than 10:00am. 2 hrs early is preferred just to be sure.

Two years ago we took a bus from Nice along the Promenade to the airport, so bus may be a possibility. I'd agree with 2 hours early, but as a practical matter I'd say as early as you reasonably can. The morning is essentially devoted to getting to the airport, you won't really have time to do more tourist stuff in Cannes before you head out. The slack in the schedule by getting there early absorbs any unexpected hiccup; train is delayed, bus is late or snarled in traffic, etc.

Lignes d'Azur express bus #210 runs non-stop from Cannes to the airport. Buses run every 30 minutes beginning at 08:00. The fare is €20.

There are at least three regional trains/hour from Cannes to Nice-Saint-Augustin. The ride takes around 30 minutes and the fare is €5.80. It's a ten-minute walk from the station to the airport. Or you can take Lignes d'Azur bus #23 (four minutes). Buses run at least every 15 minutes and the fare is €1.50.

Tim has given you the correct info. Just to clarify, the #23 bus runs from near Nice-Saint Augustin station to the airport, not all the way from Cannes.

Your best bet, IMO, is the direct Express bus that leaves at 8:00. I have used the Lignes d'Azur airport bus express on another route and it was the most comfortable and least-hassle way to go.
