We will be in Cannes on a cruise on Monday, November 7, from 8 - 4. What sights should we make sure we see? Any suggestions for how to spend the day is greatly appreciated.

Rick's suggestion (e.g., in his Mediterranean Cruise Ports book) is to take a train to Antibes (15 minutes) or Nice (40 minutes). See also the "Read" section at https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/france/french-riviera.

There is a darling little town on the coast just 7 km west of Cannes called Mandelieu-La Napoule. I spent a weekend here a couple years ago. It has good restaurants, a lovely coastal walk, marinas and a very interesting castle with an American connection and a fascinating history. The website for the castle is at Chateau de La Napoule.
