Cannes, France?

We will be in Cannes, France for a one day stay from a Mediterranean cruise. Are there any wineries near there we could go to for a tour or tasting etc. That is our only port in France and would like to try some French wine!

It's not a major wine region except for rose, and wineries are not like they are in the US, with large tasting rooms and tours. That said, there are some. You will also enjoy many fine wine shops and wine bars, with no upper limit in prices in Cannes.

There is an AOC region between Nice and Cannes called Bellet. Also, as per linked above, the rose vineyards are to the west, in the hills and near Frejus and St. Tropez. I personally prefer the rose option.

As an off-beat choice, there is wine produced at a monastery on an island just off the coast near Cannes, called Isle St Honorat. In season (July), they even have lavender fields and wine produced by the monks.

These both look very interesting. Unfortunately the Abby won't be doing tours the day we will be there. We will check out the tours.
Thanks!
