I ware an AFO (ankle-foot-orthotic) on one leg. Can you get walking sticks thru security at the museums? Or do you have to check walking sticks at Museums? Or can you use them in the Museum to get around?
I suppose each museum has its own policy. I use a cane and have had no trouble taking it into museums and using it inside. But I couldn't state a policy for all museums.
I travel with a walking stick and all airlines and most museums run it through the xray scanner. I've never had difficulty with this.
You can take your walking stick with you, and in fact, often times the agent manning the admission lines will let you go in front of everybody.
As far as I know, however, walking sticks aren't suitable for carry-on if they have metal tips on them. It's likely okay if it looks more like a cane and has no metal tip.
