Can you recommend a good apartment near Notre Dame?

That's it. I need to go back to France.

Our trip last fall was cut a little short because of the attacks. We fell in love with France......it was magical. BUT we missed out on seeing the inside of Notre Dame, Versailles and going to the top of the Eiffel and for hubby eating at Robert and Louise. We were fortunate to have been in France for 22 days before the attacks and so fortunate to not have been hurt in any way. The French are such resilient people. We want to go back and see what we missed.

We stayed in the 7th with a view of the Eiffel Tower. This time we think we would like stay near Notre Dame. Any suggestions on an apartment or hotel within close walking distance to Notre Dame for 2 adults with an elevator cause my hubby has a bum knee.

We are open to suggestions. Budget of no more than $250 US a night would be helpful as our Canadian dollar is no doing so well.

Some years ago a friend and I rented an apartment via a company called Bienvenue a Paris. I don't know if they are still in business or not, but the apartment was literally across the street from Notre Dame. It had a bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room, small but nice kitchen and a nice bathroom. I don't recall the price offhand, but it was definitely cheaper than the 2 hotel rooms we would have needed. You might want to google the company and see if they still do rentals.

I'd recommend a hotel over an apartment, just because the elevators aren't always reliable in apartment buildings, and in this area, many buildings aren't equipped with them.

There are 3 hotels on Ile Saint-Louis - which are about 2 short blocks from Notre Dame, on the main street which divides this island. All are equipped with elevators and air-conditioning and will fit your budget. Some are offering free breakfast and reduced summer rates, if you book via internet.
