Can you check picnic food at Versailles bag check?

We'd like to bring a picnic lunch to Versailles. Our palace ticket is for 9 am, so ideally, we'd see the palace, see half of the gardens, and then head into the park to eat. However, I know we can't bring the food into the palace. Can we check our picnic backpack and grab it before we go outside? Thank you.

In the past they have explicitly said that food may not be left in left luggage but it isn ow more ambiguous. they now allow strollers because the main left luggage is closed but apparently there are self check stations. They don't mention food. You could chance discreetly packed picnic and hope for the best but the site is not clear. I remember it was quite explicitly barred before the changes of COVID. Here is the information now:

Automatic deposits are at your disposal to leave your personal items and luggage that do not exceed the limited format. You will find them at the Information points :

South ministers' wing : free automatic deposits are available (for luggage not exceeding 46 x 43 x 26 cm)

I assume these are lockers like those at the Louvre but no idea if there are sufficient for the crowd --
