Can I buy RER B tickets at a local train station the day before I need to go to the airport?

I want to try and not be stressed about getting a ticket the day of. I have a 10am flight on Air France to Venice.

Yes, you can. They’re not timed or dated. I often will buy two tickets, so I have my return ticket in hand.

You may purchase a 14€ airport ticket at anytime. However, your Easy card cannot hold both an airport ticket and métro/Transilien/RER tickets.

You could literally purchase this year on your way out of the country and use it next year if you returned. They are not timed.

I believe this is because the turnstiles (those blasted things again... ) cannot know where you are going in order to select the right ticket?
So how do you deal with this in practice then? Use a second Easy Card?

Yes, you use a second card. I use my phone and have two Navigo cards loaded on it — one has bus and metro tickets only and the other has only my airport tickets. I could not add airport tickets to the card on which I initially bought bus and metro tickets. The app tells you that and offers a second card for the airport tickets.
