Can a US teacher ID get you in museums in Paris

Does a US teacher ID count as an education pass in Paris?

Check out the admission for teachers at the Louvre:

https://www.louvre.fr/en/hours-admission/admission

It appears it does not limit free admission to teachers from France.

We are US citizens and get free admission to museums in Europe because my husband is blind.

You can always ask and show your teacher ID.

And there's always the one free Sunday a month...

"From October to March, admission to the museum is free for all visitors on the first Sunday of each month"

If you are a teacher of art, history or the applied arts, you may want to email the museum to see if admission is free for you. I’ve done that to confirm that we were free under the handicap and carer category and to also make sure we can skip the line. Best to go to the source since there seems to be a difference in interpretation of the free admission wording.

If you are a teacher spending several months in France (or even several weeks if you want to visit the Louvre often during that time) you could get a professional membership to the louvre which gives you a year's free access and allows a guest on Weds/Fri evenings. There is an office that sells such passes in the corridor between Carrousel security and the Pyramid courtyard under the glass. We did that for several years. Your US teacher or professor ID will suffice.

Nope. And that ID card that Laura mentioned isn't worth anything either. Been there...tried both!
