Hi, we're taking a small motorhome to Strasbourg and was wondering if anyone has any advice on campsites close to the city,
or on the the German side of the Rhine so we could access Strasbourg via the bridge
Almost no one on this forum seems to camp. Hopefully there are other websites that focus more on this.
Regards and happy travels!
Motorhome (or travel trailer) touring is popular in Europe, so rest assured, you should be able to find plenty of spots to stay. Research on other forums, or just plain old googling, should get some precise answers.
Shouldn´t be a problem to find a campsite. To find one with an easy public transport connection to Strassbourg will be less obvious. Most camping grounds are located a bit remote on the countryside, often close to a village. However in general there are city camping grounds too, but "Camping de la Montagne Verte" in Strasbourg seems to be closed.
There are a few places, more parking lots for campers (motorhomes) in Strasbourg and I think more equiped for a short stay. Hopefully this will help you: http://www.campercontact.com/campersite/detail/id/18346

Be aware about the season for finding a place. July and August are high season, mostly for families. Shoulder season more for retired people and they make most use of motorhomes.
