Will be stopping in Marseille on a cruise in August. Interested in seeing Cassis and the Calanques. Has anyone done a boat tour from Marseille? Or is doing a day trip to Cassis and doing the short 45 minute Calanques tour enough? I’m not keen on being stuck in a bus for 2 hours to get to Cassis which is what one review of the ship’s tour to Cassis stated. Any other ideas for seeing this area in one day (In port from 900-1800)

For the boat tour (the only realistic option to see the Calanques in summer), the ones from Marseille work perfectly. You'll save a lot of time vs. bussing to Cassis. Unsure if you can/should book your place on the boat in August, but maybe someone else will see this thread and cover that!
