I'm traveling from Calais to Nantes by train and would really like to AVOID connecting in Paris. Looking for a possible route that bypasses Paris. Everything I've looked at goes to Paris. A city in between Calais and Nantes for a few days would be ideal.
Any suggestions? Merci and thanks.
If you search using Trainline, there are several options.
Search the SNCF website first….there are connections avoiding Paris. Trainline is a ticket sales point and doesn’t necessarily have all connections.
By avoiding Paris, I assume you are fine with going around Paris, like a TGV from Lille Europe that goes to CDG, Marne la Vallee-Chessy, and Massy, all Paris suburbs, then continues to Nantes. There are a couple, so you would only need the local train from Calais to Lille Europe.
