We are 8 peope traveling from CDG to central Paris. Is there a car service you can recommend? Or should we take 2 taxis and what should the cost be?
What date and time? What arrondissement are you going to?
There is no flat rate from CDG to Paris so the estimate of the fare will depend on where you are going. Depending on traffic, I'd guess that most taxi rides from CDG to central paris range from 40 to 70 euros. You can use www.taxifarefinder.com for a very rough estimate. There are always maxi taxis in the taxi line at the airport but your group is probably 1 person too big for them. I have never used them but I have heard good things from friends about ShuttleInter (http://www.shuttle-inter.com/). You do not prepay with them so if they do not show up, you can go ahead and grab a couple of taxis. Don't forget that with taxis there is an extra charge for the fourth passenger and for each piece of luggage after the first that is placed in the trunk.
Took the taxi from CDG to arr 13 and back to CDG a week ago, and the fare was 46.00 euros each way. By the way, the taxi driver calculates your fare on the meter, including extra person and/or extra bag.
becker,
For a group of eight, you might also consider pre-booking a Shuttle. As I recall, there are suggestions in the Guidebook, or you could check online.
Check with your hotel....some of them offer shuttle service. I think that a shuttle would be easier for the group rather than 2 taxi cabs.
www.pariswebservices.com offers a service of meeting you inside the airport, and will wait if your flight is delayed. Other shuttles like www.shuttlenetwork.com will want you to book a time and are not really flexible if your flight is late. Other forum users have recently reported paying the higher-end €70 taxi fare recently.
