I know I'm taking a risk but I bought a smartphone from Google Fi only 14 months ago. Its battery has been draining quickly despite my having reset it at least once. If it your smartphone were to malfunction, badly, in France, what would you do? Is it possible to buy a Google Fi compatible smartphone (that would work back in the U.S.) in large cities like Paris or Bordeaux? I would like to get at least two years out of my smartphone (moto x4) before having to scrap it.
My first question would be if the warranty on a new phone would be honored outside of France.
Hi Denny! Sorry, probably not gonna answer your question but if you're only gonna be in France for a short while, have you thought about renting a smartphone while you're there?
This Paris-based company rents out smartphones at a daily rate. I think 3€/day that comes with local calls/texts and 4G data. https://insidr.co/insidr-smartphone/

Define "draining quickly." How long does the battery last before next charge? How much are you using it?
I've had my X4 about a month. Battery life seems about average, similar to my Moto E4. I don't charge it every day unless I've used it a lot, though I admit I am not a phone power user with 20 apps open at once or anything...
