Buy tickets at home or buy at the museums in Paris?

My husband and I will be in Paris the first week of September 2019. We would like to visit the following museums that we have not visited before: Musee Jacquemart-Andre, Musee Nissim de Camondo, and the Picasso Museum. I am wondering if we should buy tickets in advance at home or are the lines usually short enough that we could just show up whenever it is convenient for us and buy at the museum without a long wait. Any other information about these museums is also welcome. We will also be visiting the Musee Cluny, and I understand that admission is free, but are there long lines at this time of year?
Thank you.

Cluny is not free, it's either 5 or 9 Euros depending on if they have "exhibitions"

Early Sept is still prime season for Paris so there could be lines.

I'd have tickets ahead for the Picasso but the others are not likely to have long lines -- at least when we visited them they didn't.

Do know the Cluny is undergoing work and is partially closed. Here's the google-translated info from the French site (which does not seem to show on the English one!).

"ATTENTION: until the spring of 2021, the medieval hotel and the courtyard are closed for work. Since the new reception, you have access to a restricted visit including: the frigidarium (free visit); all restored Gallo-Roman baths (guided tour); the Lady with the unicorn; a selection of 70 treasures from the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions."

When I went in April the "70 treasures" that were on display then were in about 3 rooms. At that time I felt the only way I would visit with this closure was if I was mostly interested in the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries. As it happened, that is what I went for but I would have been disappointed if I hadn't know about the small bit of their collection that is on display.

editing to add: BTW, if you are at the Cluny and want a quick and inexpensive lunch, I really like the Maison Sen behind the museum of Rue du Sommerard. It's more or less Vietnamese fast food but quite good!

I'm seeing that the Cluny is mainly closed. I also wanted to see the Musee Carnavalet, but it is closed until the beginning of next year.

Thank you to everyone. I will buy tickets to the Picasso Museum in advance per your advice. Based on what some have stated about the Cluny, I think we'll visit if we have the time but it won't be a priority.
