Bus service in Provence in October

Hi my husband and I are going to Provence in October; staying in Avignon but wanting to take day trips to Arles, Aix and Les Baux. I've tried to find bus schedules (Rick Steves says they're faster than trains) but can't find any timetables for October. Anyone ever taken local buses in Provence in October?

I would still expect some bus service to run, except on Sundays. You may have to wait a few weeks to find October schedules at http://www.edgard-transport.fr/presentation/?rub_code=9. At the very least, that page says that they run to Arles every Saturday morning for the market, etc. The Tourist Office in Avignon is also a good place to check bus schedules in person, but I did not see anything relevant on their web site. If it becomes necessary, it would also be possible to rent a car on short notice (bring your driver's license).

hi.

we stayed 3 weeks in Avignon in may about 5 yrs ago. there was no problem with buses nor trains. we took the train to arles, the bus to pont-du-gard, then nimes, then train back to Avignon. took the bus to aix. another day, took the bus to Villeneuve across the river. we joined a tour to the hilltown of gordes and lex baux.

we only got the timetable of the buses from the TI when we got to Avignon.

Avignon is central to many spots. enjoy.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look for the timetables when I get to Avignon.
