You don't mention how much your hotel budget is but...

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Diana near La Sorbonne.
It's a family owned hotel, with comfy beds, A/C, good WiFi connection, friendly staff 24/7, and reasonably priced.

Enjoy your time in Paris!

I booked Artus by MH via Hotels.com and it was roughly that(average was $140/night). I stayed for 10 days this past March. It was on Rue de Buci, and this street was amazing and such a lovely/fun area.

Hotel Agora Saint Germain http://hotel-agora-paris.com/. They should be in budget but it is possible that they will insist that you need a triple because your child is over 1 year old, in which case, it will be out of budget. Also, you may want to mention the time of year because hotel rates fluctuate. For example, the Artus hotel will be out of your budget if you are traveling in July.

I've been very happy with the Grand Hotel des Balcons. Very nice, english speaking staff. Great location. Not far from the Luxembourg Gardens. I loved having a balcony (small). The Odeon Theatre is just down the street, so it can be noisy in the evening. And there is no AC.

I booked my nights in Paris last month at the last minute. I wound up booking two nights in the 5th at two different hotels that had cheap rates a few days before check-in. I found them on Booking.com first, but I checked the hotels' own websites and found even cheaper rates. Each hotel cost 80 Euros per night. Normally prices are much higher at both places. I guess if they have a lot of free rooms they lower their prices near the last minute, so you have to keep checking.

The first hotel was the Hôtel Cujas Panthéon, near the Panthéon and also the Jardin du Luxembourg, which was a huge bonus, as that's maybe my favorite spot in Paris.
The second hotel was the Hotel Europe Saint Severin, which was in an even better location really close to the Notre Dame. I had hoped to book both nights at this hotel but the price went up for the second night right before I booked - grrrrr!

I thought both hotels were excellent and a great value.

Be sure to mention child when booking , if you book a double room without mentioning you have a child with you , you can be turned away , it has happened to people .
