Brittney-is it worth the time and what places are recommended for seeing and spending the night. Train from Paris to Rennes and pick up a car? Thoughts. We have previously visited Normandy and enjoyed as well as Mont St. Michael.

Brittany (the region of France) (not Britney like Spears) is a beautiful exceedingly rural region with a lot to see without being overwhelming.
The north coast (by the Channel) is considerably different from the west coast (on the Atlantic), and yet again considerably different from inland.
Are you only going for one night? It is a big place.
Where did you have in mind? Where are you going afterwards?

We are going in September and are staying in St Malo for three days,St Malo is a walled city and also visiting Dinan and driving the coast which is very scenic,we are arriving from the Loire Valley.

As Nigel says Brittany is a very large area. I spent 12 days there a couple of years ago, stayed in 3 different base towns and did lots of exploring. I absolutely loved the whole coast of Brittany - and the interior too. How long were you planning to explore Brittany? It's best with a car so you can get to some of the adorable little towns and villages.
