Brittany's GR34 Walking Trail - Favourite Sections Near Perros-Guirec and Saint-Malo?

I will be visiting Brittany in late May, staying in Perros-Guirec (4 nights) and Saint-Malo (4 nights).

One of the big draws of the area for me is the coastal GR34 walking trail (or le sentier des douaniers).

I wondered if anyone here has walked parts of the trail around the areas where I will be staying and, if so, do you have recommendations for favourite sections? I'm look for walks of up to 20 kilometers, ideally accessible by public transit or a manageable taxi ride from where I am staying since I won't have a car on this trip.

Based on my research, here are some of the walks I'm thinking of - but I'd love more ideas:

Perros-Guirec:

  • Perros-Guirec to Ploumanac'h
  • Port Blanc to Perros-Guirec

Saint-Malo

  • St-Briac-sur-Mer to Pointe du Décollé (to Dinard?)
  • Cancale to Pointe du Grouin (to Plage du Guesclin?)

Any ideas or suggestions? Or do you have any favourite walks in these areas on different (non-GR34) trails?

The portions you mentioned are actually really beautiful. From Perros to Ploumanach it is much shorter than the 20km distance you indicated (it is also one of the most popular sections of the GR34, there you will meet more people than on other sections you mentioned).

Between Perros and St Malo, you could also consider to walk the GR34 around Plougrescant, Pleubian (but difficult relying on public transport), or maybe easier between Paimpol and Ploubazlanec, near the island Bréhat.

You could walk from St Briac directly to Dinard through Pointe du Décollé (or begin from Lancieux).
Plage du Guesclin is a beautiful place, you could actually walk 2 days between St Malo and Cancale through Pointe du Grouin (or one day, and taking a bus back to St Malo or Cancale).
