Brittany and reservations at the end of october

Hi! Me again asking. Sorry still trying to figure it out this trip. :)

I'm going to france late october and early november. The idea is to go to Paris and mostly Brittany and this is a budget trip so I'm gonna be staying on hostels. My concern is Brittany. I have some cities and places I want to go to, but not completely defined the itinerary. Some of them are Amboise, Rouen, St. Malo, St. Michelle, and a little more to the south, Nantes. But there seems to be a lack of hostel on all that area. How feasible is to go to the area without reservations? I'm travelling alone so I don't like the idea of not having a place to sleep, but i think that maybe it's easier to find good optiones while I'm already in France.

Againt, thanks in advance. I keep asking questions here bc I truthfully think that this is the most helpful forum I have found.

Hostels are the way to go if you are young and traveling solo. You'll meet up with fellow travelers and have a blast as you get to know both the cities and people from all over the world. I'm sure you'll find hostels in most of the places you mentioned--but not on Mont St-Michel. If I were you, I'd splurge and rent a room on the island for the night--but if you can't afford it, there is a hostel at Pleine Fougères which is somewhat near the railroad connection at Portorson. Since you're traveling in the fall, I don't think you need reservations--and you don't want to be tied down in case you want to stay longer in one place. However, sometimes hostels close for the winter, so be sure to check that they are open when you come. I like the "official" hostels offered by Hosteling International , but private hostels are fine, too. Have a great trip.
