Brief time in Paris - where to stay and what to do in 2 half days.

Will be arriving at CDG late on a Saturday afternoon and flying out the next day late evening. Would appreciate recommendations on where to stay and the must do's while briefly in Paris! And any other advice you would like to offer. This is the end of our travel which starts in London on to Italy and why not make a brief stop in Paris (the flights were actually less than flying Rome to LHR direct)

Thank you!

I have been to Paris 4 times. I would suggest getting a picnic of wine and cheese and having a picnic near the Eiffel Tower. Strolling the Champs Elysees, and taking a tour of Musee D'Orsay (impressionist museum) or Musee Rodin.

I'd get a hotel around St-Michel, take the RER "B" there, take a river cruise, walk across the river to the Tuileries and outside the Louvre, have that picnic under the Eiffel Tower, and walk in one or two neighborhoods and/or parks. Skip the Champs Elysees and any museums. Museums will suck all your time, save them for the next trip. Give yourself plenty of time to get back to CDG three hours before your flight.

Booking.com is good for finding hotels, but try to book directly on the hotel's own website.

Le Lapin Blanc is an affordable hotel and well located. I recently spent a 1-night layover in Paris with my 70+ year old mother who has limited mobility (Her first time in Paris). We hired Midnight in Paris on Wheels... http://www.midnightinparisonwheels.com/

We packed ALL of the essential sights into a 4-hour tour and the driver took wonderful photos of my mother and me. It was expensive but well worth it.

Exactly what Dick said. Excellent advice as always.
