Breaking up the drive between Chamonix and Roussillon

Hi! We are driving this June from Chamonix into Provence (Roussillon) and thought it might be nice to break up the drive but we only have one night before we check into our hotel near Roussillon. We're travelling with 3 kids ages 9, 10 and 14. I was considering the Valence area and found a truffle farm we can possibly visit and Valrhona chocolate museum in the area. Is Valence worth visiting for a night or does anyone have any suggestions?

The other option would be to add another night in Chamonix but some travellers in our party are concerned that the drive is really long for one day.

I appreciate any ideas!

We drove from Chamonix all the way to l'Isle-sur-le-Sorgue (almost to Roussillon) all in one go, and it was not at all a difficult drive (4-5 hours). The only place that looks interesting to me along the route would be Annecy or Albertville, but those are really not far from Chamonix and not much of a cultural / scenic difference.
