Breakfast included?

It's been awhile since we've been able to tour with RS. If my memory is correct, we were always served breakfast at our hotels on our tours. Is this correct? We are doing The Best of Paris and The Best of London tours. Just trying to plan ahead in case we need to find a breakfast spot. Thanks all!

All tours include breakfast and half your dinners, and in my experience from the GAS tour in 2019, we had breakfast at our hotel every morning.

I’m not sure how I feel about the “snacks and lunch advice.” I don’t think this is the intent of the hotel breakfast. I think it was the “discrete” that was off putting. If the hotel gives their permission, you shouldn’t have to hide it. If they haven’t given their permission, you simply shouldn’t do it.

Hi Bev, yes, all breakfasts are included at the hotels.

Funny story - I did a bus tour (not RS) from Seattle to San Francisco a few years ago. Seventy people on the bus and most of the travelers were old (older than me) women. There was one single guy, a dentist from NYC. His employees chipped and bought the tour for him as a gift. He kept to himself and didn’t speak to anyone. One morning I passed him in the hall on the way down to breakfast. He caught my eye and said, “wait till you see what’s going on down there.” The ladies had cleared out the entire buffet. They took all the muffins and pastries and stashed them in their purses for lunch. Yikes! I grabbed some coffee and sat as far away from them as I could. Discrete, not really. I bet the hotel was furious.

The main effect of buffet thieves is that buffets become less generous and stop including lovely options that some people may enjoy but that they can't afford to provide for thieves. Maybe this is why almost no hotels in Europe now include breakfast in the room price.
