Do you mean Bordeaux? There is no Boudreaux in France.

Cute safe neighborhoods are not immediately adjacent to the train station. Are you looking for a hotel or an apartment?

Look near St. Andre Cathedral and Hotel de Ville (City Hall).

Bordeaux has a great city tram system and the St. Andre/Hotel de Ville area is right by the old city and at one of the tram crossroads. It will be a 25 minute tram ride to the train station, Bordeaux St. Jean.

Restaurants, the old city, shopping and the Musee d’Acquitaine are all near St. Andre. The two wine museums (Cite du Vin and Musee du Vin et Negoce) will be a bit farther, as is the Market and Public Garden, but all those are readily accessible from the St. Andre area by tram.

RS’ Bordeaux myopia persists. He totally misses/disses Bordeaux (the city). Lonely Planet has a pretty good Bordeaux pocket guide.

It's been a few years but we've stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Bordeaux centre. It's about a 5 minute drive or a 15 minute walk to Gare Saint Jean. There is the Halle Boca right next door which is a food hall with a variety of cusines.

See the Bassin des Lumieres...an artistic installation of lights in the old submarine pens. My kids and grandkids loved it!

You may want to look at Hotel Konti. I have not stayed there yet, but have reservations for November. It's right in the heart of things and a 25 min tram ride from the train station. I thought the rates were very reasonable, and it gets good reviews here on the forum and on booking.com.
