Bordeaux 3 hrs.

We are going to be passing by Bordeaux enroute to another destination. I am told that a stop in Bordeaux is simply a must. How could we make the best of it in 3 hours? What is a must see?

Since we're going to be sitting in a car we would enjoy something where we could walk or move around.

Would it be better to skip the city and go to a vineyard instead?

Thank you....

Yes you should spend the three hours in Bordeaux. Use a car park as close to the Place de la Bourse as possible and start wandering from there: along the river front, all the tiny streets of the old city behind Place de la Bourse, churches, squares, the cathedrale, the towers. There is a small tourist office at Place de la Bourse that can give you some information on the historic buildings and wine bars everywhere, as well as a lot of outdoor street life. You won't really have time for an organized tour, a boat ride, or a trip to the new City of Wine, but you'll have enough time for the rest.
