Booking TrainTravel

Have read RS, but am confused on booking a couple simple train trips:

Using the SNCF app, it looks to only book travel on same day, but not future travel.
Using EuropeRail on computer, I easily find what I am looking for, so plan to use that booking platform.
But remain confused why SNCF app does not seem to work. Is it because I am booking travel outside 30 days in advance? Would prefer to use SNCF.

Travel:
May 21 Paris (St Lazarre) to Caen.
May 28 Tours to Paris (preferably Gare Montparnasse)

Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Roy

Right underneath where you enter the destination and departure stations, you have today's date. Tap on the date and the calendar will open. Scroll to May and choose your date.

Do you mean RailEurope? It is a travel agency and may not give you all the options for trains.

Hm, that's interesting. I just plugged your information in using the SNCF app, and it shows multiple trains for either of the trips you are planning. Note that I didn't specify the Paris train station, instead used Paris Îsle-de-France as starting and end points. If you haven't done so already, try doing the same search using the SNCF website instead.

And hopefully the locals can weigh in with additional tips.

Bon voyage!

The SNCF interface is horrible, but it should work. It is unnecessarily annoying though, I totally agree.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
Got my train travel booked with desired times.
Interesting, I was only able to see a full day of train departures from Paris to Caen on the SNCF website, not on the app. The app only offered late afternoon/early evening departures.
Safe travels to all.

The app offers the same departure as the website. However it is possible that the app choose to only display a couple of departures around your chosen travel. Which is why it is important to either enter the correct time you want to travel, or just press the buttons to show earlier (or later) trains. On many routes there are far more trains that can be easily displayed on a mobile phone screen...

That can happen if you overlook the hour choice. The app will always default to the current hour, just as it defaults to the current day. The time is at the bottom of the screen, very small, and easy to overlook. But congratulations on getting the tickets.

I actually find the Android version of the SNCF app to work great. Perhaps the iPhone version is designed differently.
