Booking train in December, too soon?

I’ve been trying to book Paris to Strasbourg on December 11 for a few days thinking that I was told 90 days ahead. I’m still not finding any options on either SNCF or Trainline. Since this is a busy time, I’m afraid to miss my opportunity.

Should I just keep trying every day and finally it will happen? Or am I missing something?

90 days is an un-useful generalisation. Sometimes it can be as short as 4 weeks before the travel date

Thank you, I really did try to find that date on either website! I was just getting nervous because it appears to be a popular route in December.

Yes, as others say - the train time table changes mid December EVERY year, and you aren't able to buy tickets till early to mid Oct. Normally, you can book 6mo out (and we always do as that's the cheapest time to get 1st Class) - but when we go over every Dec for the Xmas Markets, we do have to wait till mid Oct to book tickets. We book on the BAHN website and we start looking everyday starting the first week of Oct -

On the SNCF site you can set up an alert to notify you when tickets are available for purchase. You may have to play around on the website to find it. I did this for our trip for end of November and did it with my phone . For whatever reason the website using my PC wouldn't cooperate! I think I might have done a dummy booking for date we needed and then was given the option to set up the alert. A day or so later I could do it on the PC

The SNCF site can be a bit temperamental!

And you're right to be looking ahead, as it is indeed a very popular route in December !!
