Booking a hotel on Mont St Michel

I'd bet that the other hotels on the island are also not yet taking reservations but they just didn't word it as accurately as the Guesclin did. You're looking for a double, right, and not a more rare family-sized room?

What Laura said. I'm sure the ones that claimed no availability just don't have availability that far out. We ran into that ourselves.just check back in November.

Try looking at the hotel's own website. I found that no available rooms on booking sites doesn't always mean no available rooms at all. Expensive is the norm for rooms on the island but Hotel du Guesclin was the lowest priced when I booked for September.

My hubby and I recently booked a double room at Le Saint Michel for 100 euros (about $113) for a night in October. The first trip I ever made in 1993 to Mont St Michel, I paid $75 for my room. I didn't think 100 euros was so bad to pay 23 years later. But then, I'm totally enamored with the Mont:) I have stayed at Le Saint Michel before in 2001. The triple room with a view (3 daughters with me). I don't recall the price but I remember the room was very nice. With Le Saint Michel's web site, you don't have to inquire for availability like at the other hotels. They send you to another link to do the actual, immediate booking. But ... I don't know if it works booking that far out.
I think many of the sites, bus and train lines, too, only book out a couple months in advance??

Hope this helps......I ran into the exact same problem a year ago. My hubby and I took a 15 day trip to France in May and began making our plans last August. I secured all of our rooms but could never get through to any hotels on Mont St Michel....and we REALLY wanted to stay on the isle. I finally got through....calling the actual hotel phone numbers.....every morning, Eastern Time Zone, at 7 in the morning before I went to work. They always told me that they would not take reservations until November. I called daily in November until one hotel told me they were booked!......and I reminded them that I had called daily and they would not help me. I guess they felt sorry for me and Hotel La Croix Blanche finally gave us a room. It was a great place to stay and worth every dollar we paid for it.....a bucket list dream for us! I think the day I got through was around November 12 or so.
After we arrived there I saw that a Rick Steves tour was booked at our hotel.....so I am wondering if they had secured a block and that was what kept us from easily finding a place.
