We have stayed twice at the Westin Place Vendome, across from the Tuilleries gardens. We used points and loved the location, where we could walk everywhere. Now that Starwood and Marriott have merged their loyalty programs, it works great with more options. Next time we visit Paris, we want to stay in a more Parisian hotel, though, but free nights in an expensive city worked great. Enjoy your trip.

I have stayed at the Marriott Rive Gauche. It was fine. Filled with american tourists but the rooms were nice and convenient to le métro.

Opera and Vendôme are great hotels. It has been a few years for either of them since my last visit but enjoyed.
