Any advice on hiring a boat to sail us out among the Calanques from Cassis? Not self-guided. A swimming stop would be a welcome bonus. I’d like to think it’s something we can just “show up” for, but the planner in me wants to know for sure. My online searches are not proving fruitful. Also, is is safe to assume that life jackets will be available, including for children?
I just put “ boat tours calanques” in google, and there were plenty of listings. It appears that you could reserve for some. It’s a good idea. Here’s our sad story. We planned 2 days near Cassis, just for the purpose of seeing the calanques. It was May. First day it rained. Second day dawned bright and sunny. Went to the dock. All the boats were there and staying put, because of the wind and strong current. I think jackets are mandatory. The TI office can probably give you the most complete and up to date information.
I too asked The Google, but it appears that all of the ones with reservations are going out of Marseille, at least that I’m seeing. I think I have resolved to take that option and then hit Cassis in the late afternoon for on-land fun.
Tickets seemed to be from a centralized ticket office. We walked up and bought tickets and left on the next boat. We didn’t deal with anyone on the boat until they asked for tips as we left.
Do you remember where you bought the tickets and which company. I would rather not reserve in advance but would like to do a boat tour, was hoping to just find one when I get there (I'll be there for 6 days in July) - in Marseille, not Casis (will probably do that just as a day trip). Thanks
