Blabla Car

Is BlaBla car a reliable type of transportation in France?

BlaBlaCar offers two very different types of transportation services.

There's carpooling with individuals who offer rides in their cars on a specific route between point A and point B, and there are buses that operate on predefined routes.

So you need to specify which service you're referring to.

Aixe isn't a city that exists in France, and there are at least five cities in France called Aix...something. (Aix without a e)

If you mean Aix-en-Provence, I don't think there's a BlaBlaCar bus service from Aix-en-Provence to Arles.

It will be a carpooling service with individuals, a kind of pre-booked, paid hitchhiking service for which you have to be registered on the website

Where is Aixe?

Do you mean Aixe-sur- Vienne in western France or Aix-en-Provence in southern France?

If you use GPS or any search, don't forget the hyphens in Aix-en-Provence. Be careful with French location spellings. It matters.

There is train service available between Aix-en-Provence and Arles with an easy connection in Marseille. And doesn't take much longer than driving.

Again, Blablacar is not a single type of transport but an application that allows you to book either a bus trip or a carpooling trip with French people who have unoccupied seats in their car and want to share travel costs.

I found this review on Blablacar in France. Maybe it will help. https://wherefoodtakesus.com/blablacar-review-france/

I had an account a few years ago. I liked the process and had a ride booked from Chișinău to Odesa but things got a tad dicey on the road so we both decided better to wait. So I haven't got any experience beyond the booking process. I may try again in the summer.

We’ve used BlablaCar rideshare. The government promotes and favors it by offering newly-registered drivers a monetary bonus after sharing four rides.

Elizabeth, the government promotes it? Thats facinating. I will give the French credit for putting their money where their words are. Like the short haul flight ban. Perfect sense. I know, not executed perfect, but a step in the right direction especially in a country with such a forward thinking energy production mindset. I admire a lot about the French.

FYI, the traditional nightly weather report changed to "climate and weather report" several years ago. Every evening a viewer's climate question is answered by an expert, a real expert with diplomas and experience. No heads in the sand around here.
