birthday in champagne region. need suggestions

I am planning the day for my moms 60th birthday. she will be staying in Reims. my thought is.
wake up in Reims, get breakfast somewhere.
find a tasting of some kind likely in Reims
take the train to Epernay. wander Epernay then get lunch. (recommendations for lunch welcome)
Hoping to find a guided tour of the area for the afternoon. Ideally stopping in hautvillers and other small towns and visiting a small/family grower.
At 5pm I have tickets for Moet tour (in Epernay)
Take train back to Reims for Dinner.

  1. any suggestions for guided tour for the afternoon? (company names, type of fun tour etc)
  2. any favorite lunch spots in Epernay?
  3. also open to tours that go all day and include lunch as long as she would be back to Epernay in time for the 5pm Moet tour.
  4. any place suggestions to have a morning glass of bubbly?

thanks everyone!

As for guided tours I have no personal experience but if you refer to your other Epernay post where I commented I gave you links to several local tourist office websites that have lots of info about guided tours of every variety, not to mention all kinds of info about champagne, dining and any other tourist related activity. I'm sure you would like personal recommendations, which I totally understand, but I still suggest you spend time researching the tourist office and other website links I mentioned.

@Mystique. yes I am already checking the tourism website, and google etc. However, I find this forum always leads me to some gems on my travels and am looking for peoples recommendations and personal experiences.

As for my other post- it was specific for e-bikes and that is for a different day of this trip.
thanks,

Take a look at Sparkling Tour. They pick you up in a very small group Reims and take you to smaller champagne houses that you wouldn't be able to access by public transport easily.
