best way to travel from Paris to London?

Would it be better to take the train or grab a flight from Paris to London? Thank you so much for your advice.

The Eurostar takes 2 1/2 hours, but figure you should be at the station 1 hour beforehand for check in and security. Flying, 45 minutes to get from central Paris to the airport, 2 hours check in and security, by the time you are crossing the English Channel, you could have been in central London already, and you still need to land, get off the plane, get your luggage, and get into central London by train, bus or taxi.

Better how? Time? Money? Convenience? Comfort? Claustrophobia (ie constricted plane cabin versus darkened tunnel rail car?) I prefer the high-speed train. But it is not a bargain and can get quite expensive unless you buy well in advance. It is certainly fast if you allow that you depart from the centre of Paris and get off in the heart of London.

Train is much easier and less hassle than flying, and door to door is also faster.

Eurostar train prices start out low if you book in advance and can accept non-refundable tickets; they go way up closer to travel and/or if you need more flexibility. They go on sale six months in advance; book as soon as you are sure of your plans. http://www.eurostar.com/us-en

I would say the train .....central Paris to central London without traveling to and from airports located outside the city . Book tickets as far in advance as possible to get the best fares. Have a great trip.

Eurostar's much faster and efficient than flying than going to and from the airport and going through security.

Most people bring a picnic lunch with them to make the time go faster.
Food is available upstairs in the departure lounge - including wine and soft drinks.
Bring a pen to fill in your immigration card before you enter the gates upstairs.
Make sure to allow one hour for check-in time before your train departs.

Sometimes you get behind people who have visa problems.

The first time I did it I flew because the easyjet fare seemed cheaper than Eurostar but it turned out to be such a fiasco (flight delayed 2 hours) plus we had to make our way to Luton airport so the next 2 times I took the Eurostar. It was so much easier and more pleasant. Book as soon as you can. I think yoi can do so up to 6 months out. I'm doing it again in May!

City centre to city centre there isn't really much doubt on Eurostar.

On the other hand if you are arriving by plane at say CDG, get an onward flight from the same airport to London, preferably on the same ticket.
