Hi,
We will be staying near the Eiffel tower (about a 10-20 minute walk).
What is the best way to get to Orly airport from there? A bus? A Taxi? One of the airport shuttle services (which one?).
Thanks.

Oh, what would a taxi cost, approximately.
No doubt the bus/metro is cheapest, but if the Taxi for two is not to much we might splurge on it.

'Near'. Twenty minutes is a mile. That's a radius. The area is over three square miles. The diameter would run from down by the cathedral to further west than you'll eve go.
How about a clue?
I guess I walk a bit slower than others. :-)
We will be within a few blocks of the Ecole Militaire.
The RER line 1 goes to Orly from Paris St-Michel, costs $22 and takes about 30 minutes. Air France buses - Les Cars Air France - leaves from Invalides and Gare Montparnasse - check their website Les cars fare is 20€. A taxi should run about $30.
RER lines are lettered, not numbered. The B Line goes down toward Orly, but only as far as Antony where you have to switch to the Val.
The correct name of the Left Bank station is Saint Michel / Notre Dame, but that's the long way round. It'd be better (from Ecole Militaire ) to pick up the RER B at Denfert Rochereau.
Fat chance on a thirty buck taxi. Maybe closer to fifty euro with junk.
Orlyval from the Antony stop, as Ed mentions, is a driverless light-rail shuttle. Tickets cost 12.85€, which works out to more than two euros a minute for this short run, possibly the most expensive route in the vast Paris public-transit system.
We've taken taxis to and from Orly. It's not $30, which would be only about 23 euros. It's closer to fifty euro.
You are staying near the Invalides where the Air France bus station is located. That would be the easiest and cost about the same, 24 euro, as the RER/ OrlyVal rail combo.
