best way to get from CDG to Orly area

My son will be landing at CDG but staying in Choisy le-Roi which as it turns out is very near Orly airport. What would be the most economical way of getting to his accommodation? The owner of the lodging is suggesting taking an Uber from CDG but I assume that will be quite expensive. Does anyone know about how much an Uber or taxi would cost for that route? I thought it might be better to take the transfer between the two airports and then get an Uber or taxi from Orly to the lodging in Choisy le-Roi. He will be sharing the ride with one other person.

Let me try to cover this:

  • A taxi or Uber should cost around €60-90 depending on time of day.
  • There is no transfer bus from CDG to Orly anymore.
  • The only practical public transit option is the RER (suburban train): RER B from the airport to St Michel Notre Dame station, then RER C to Choisy Le Roi.
  • All RER B trains from the airport go to St Michel.
  • A small number of RER C trains skip Choisy le Roi : you need to check the departure board on the platform to confirm the train stops
  • To pay for this trip, depending on the length of his stay and the days of the week, your son needs to either buy a paper ticket to Choisy Le Roi from a machine at the RER station or buy a Navigo Découverte loaded with a weekly (=Mon-Sun) Navigo pass
  • The Navigo is likely to pay off really well for any stay longer than 2-3 days, but it requires a 25x30 mm photograph (any scan will do), and since it works on a calendar week basis it is only valid from Monday to Sunday and it cannot be bought later than the Thursday in any given week.

Hope it helps!
