What is the best method to get from CDG airport to our hotel (Mariott Opera)? What would a Taxi cost? We are arriving mid July--any hints.

If you have more than carry-on luggage take a taxi from CDG.
Flat ratés are in effect - 50 or 55 EU depending on location. Fare is good for 4 passengers and their luggage. Good idea to hand the driver the complete printed location of your hotel so there is no confusion.
Flat ratés work both to and from the airport.

Otherwise, the Roissybus goes from the airport directly to the Opera for 11.50 euros per person: http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/r_61872/roissybus/

I was going to suggest that too, Bets. We took that bus when our hotel was in the Opera area and it works just fine. We also had more than just carry-on luggage.

The Mariott Opera is about 4 city blocks from where the Roissybus drops you on the west side of the Opera Garnier.

I used Roissy shuttle bus last year. Easy-peasy.

Thanks all for the good information, We will probably use the taxi even though it costs a bit more .
