Best way to get from Bordeaux to Florence in Sept?

We will be in Bordeaux at the end of a tour/stay; then need to get to Florence to hook up with another tour (we are on our own for transfers). Did not realize there is no easy, direct way to do that. Options appear to be: train from Bordeaux to Paris, then Paris to Florence; or fly from Paris to Florence. Or try to fly from Bordeaux to Paris, connecting to Florence. We are elderly with luggage (small) and some mobility issues. Safety and comfort most important, cost is secondary consideration. Am leery of trying to figure out train station in Paris for connection; or at CDG airport (but I could hire concierge service, I think). Any experience, advice, suggestions? TIA.

There are direct flights Bordeaux → Florence on Thursdays and Sundays with Volotea.

There are also direct flights from Bordeaux to Venice on Mondays and Fridays with Ryanair.
From Venice you can take a train to Florence (2 hours journey)

Ryanair and Volotea are low-cost airlines.
Check the conditions and prices for baggage carefully, the basic fares are without any baggage.

For convenience I think I would fly Bordeaux to Florence. Maybe not most direct, but convenient. On kayak.com for a random Saturday in September there are a number of choices with connections through Paris (Air France), Amsterdam (KLM), Barcelona (Iberia) or Zurich (Swiss).

You might also try flying to Rome and take a train from there. Prices are reasonable with connecting airports of Zurich, Amsterdam, or Frankfurt.

Thank you to all who have replied. I did the mental calculations either before posting on this forum or after reading your comments. Budget airlines we cannot handle, due to legroom as hubby is very tall and cannot flex his legs into a small seat. After considering all, decided it will be Air France (we used last year on trip to France so have their club membership) from Bordeaux to Florence which includes a connection at CDG. And flying business class to ensure we can check bags if necessary.
